Expressions of Interest – Regalia Officer and National Shop Manager

Expressions of Interest are asked from full members who may be interested in the vacant positions on the Club’s National Executive as Regalia Officer and Shop Manager. Job descriptions can be supplied on request. There is a requirement under the Club’s constitution that only full members (not associates) can serve on the National Executive.
The positions come with full voting rights as a member of the National Executive which is tasked to run the Club on a day-to-day basis and which makes most decisions on a collective basis. The Executive meets regularly online via Google Workspace and so some basic computer skills and access to a computer are required as the individuals will need to be able to learn to operate a Club Google Workspace account (training will be given by the Club’s Tech Officer Josh Walker). Members of the National Executive are automatically also members of the Club’s National Committee, which is its rule making body.
Both positions require frequent interaction with Club members and so a professional, non-confrontational attitude and approach is a necessity, especially when the occasional (but fortunately rare) member ordering items from the Club expresses their unhappiness inappropriately.
The Regalia Officer’s role is primarily one of oversight, liaison with Chapter Presidents, and sourcing suppliers. It is important this person knows the Club’s constitution on the requirements for regalia both at a national and chapter level and their obligation to consult the National Executive before making decisions.
The Shop Manager’s role will require some website operating skills to manage sales but again full training will be given. Access to a computer is also essential. The Shop Manager’s role has recently been restructured by a new supply arrangement which has halved the workload – making this person now only responsible for the sale and dispatch of Club accessories (clothing is now being sold though our supplier’s own merchandising portal). It is possible both roles could be filled by the same person if they are interested.
Interested members are asked to contact the National Secretary Jo Skelsey at [email protected] before Monday 24 April. Should there be more than one applicant, online interviews will be held.

Kind regards
