13th TRMCC AGM a Triumph !!
The 2024 TRMCC AGM held at the weekend at Nelson’s Rutherford Hotel was, as
one member described it, “the best AGM I’ve been to.” With 140 attending the
Saturday night dinner and charity auction, it was also one of the biggest. The
weather was amazing, the ride was fantastic, the hotel hospitality was excellent, and
the AGM meeting itself was one of the shortest ever.
Chris Harvey, South Island VP and Nelson Chapter President, who again acted as
auctioneer and organiser of the Club’s annual charity auction in aid of the St John
Ambulance, said “the $3500 Club members raised would go towards building a new
ambulance station for the region“. Chris was also delighted to captain the winning
South Island tug-o-war team who achieved a long-awaited victory over the North
Island, which has held the title since 2018.
National President Gerry Halcrow praised the work of everyone on the National
Executive who helped organise this event, especially Chris and Jo our National
Secretary. He also acknowledged the awesome support from the Nelson Chapter
which organised the ride; the Marlborough Chapter which helped arrange and cook
the lunch at Filco; and the Tasman Chapter which managed the parking and sold the
drinks at the tug-o-war. “The generous grant from NZ Pub Charities to subsidise
members’ accommodation at the Rutherford and the tremendous support given to
this event from Nelson Triumph dealer Filco and Triumph Motorcycles New Zealand,”
provided the icing on the cake", Gerry said.
The AGM minutes and a full report of the weekend with lots of pics and a video will
